Happy 80th Birthday, UN!
In 2025, the United Nations marks its 80th anniversary. UN Day, observed annually on 24 October, commemorates the entry into force of the UN Charter in 1945 - establishing the UN as a global platform for peace, cooperation, and human rights. To celebrate this milestone, the UN in Mongolia, in partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, will host UN Week from 20 - 24 October, featuring events that reflect on eight decades of global progress and inspire future commitment.

About the initiative
We invite children, teachers, and schools across Mongolia to participate in the UN@80 Campaign, commemorating the United Nations’ 80th anniversary. This is a special opportunity for young people to show their support for peace, kindness, and working together to make the world a better place. The UN has been a close friend of Mongolia for over 60 years, and now it’s time to celebrate that friendship.
The campaign also provides a valuable learning experience for students to explore the principles of the UN Charter, including peace, equality, and cooperation, and to be inspired to embody these values in their own lives.
To support schools in organising learning sessions and creative activities that promote UN values, we invite teachers and students to download the UN@80 Guides. These resources include lesson plans and ideas for engaging classroom sessions that explore peace, sustainability, and human rights. You are encouraged to develop your own creative activities!
