Join us in advancing the human rights of older persons and make a decisive step toward a world where everyone can age in dignity, freedom, and equality.
Ulaanbaatar – The Asia-Pacific Regional Forum on “Active Ageing: Building an Age-Friendly Society” was held in June in Ulaanbaatar, bringing together regional leaders, civil society, and UN agencies to promote inclusive ageing policies.
The Forum concluded with the release of the “Ulaanbaatar Call for Action on Advancing the Human Rights of Older Persons”, urging stronger global commitment to protect the rights and dignity of older persons. The Call supports the implementation of UN Human Rights Council Resolution 58/13, which initiates the process toward a new international convention on the rights of older persons.
The Ulaanbaatar Call is now being shared with international human rights organizations and Permanent Missions in Geneva to build global momentum for age-inclusive human rights frameworks.
